Rocky Mountain Shakespeare Company (RockyShakes) brings the works of Shakespeare to life across Utah through live performances, actor workshops, and youth-focused competition participation. Their productions are often held outdoors—like Julius Caesar presented in late June at North Canyon Park in Bountiful—which makes experiencing Shakespeare accessible and community-centered.
Each summer, Summer Scene Workshops give aspiring actors the opportunity to hone their craft through focused training in memorization, enunciation, character analysis, and performance skills. These workshops—running from July through September—culminate in public showcases and are crafted to build confidence and stage presence.
RockyShakes also celebrates youth participation through the Utah Shakespeare Competition, where local young performers compete and receive accolades in categories such as ensemble and overall sweepstakes—highlighting their commitment to youth development in the dramatic arts.
The organization proudly presents a slate of past productions including Much Ado About Nothing (2023), Hamlet (2022), and Romeo & Juliet (2021), available via gallery and program archives for audiences to revisit and explore.
Through public performances, skill-building workshops, and support for young talent in competitive forums, Rocky Mountain Shakespeare Company nurtures a deeper appreciation for classical theater—bridging creative expression, community involvement, and the transformative power of storytelling.
