The Academy Virtual is an accredited, global online school designed specifically for students with dyslexia, ADHD, and non-traditional learning profiles. It operates under The Academy Way Network, serving learners across multiple time zones with programs built for flexibility and growth.
The school offers two primary pathways:
- A Full-School Program for learners in grades 3–8 (expanding to include 9th grade in fall 2025).
- A Tutoring Program available to students in grades 3–12
Both paths focus on structured literacy and real-life learning, featuring classes in the Wilson Reading System, real-life math, writing, reading comprehension with phonemic awareness, and spelling. The school is deeply committed to “Progress Not Perfection,” promoting individualized pacing based on each student’s strengths and learning needs. Students receive continuous progress tracking and weekly “GREATNESS Reports” to guide and motivate them.
Class sizes are intentionally kept small. Structured literacy groups cap at 3 students, while other subjects are kept at 6 or fewer—ensuring meaningful student-teacher interaction.
Admissions begin with an interest meeting via Google Meet with the founder, where parents discuss their child’s learning needs. There’s no testing required. Once admitted, students are assessed to determine their individualized starting point.
Financing is designed to relieve stress for families, and the school accepts various state Education Savings Account (ESA) programs—from Arizona to Utah and beyond—to help families offset costs.
In short, The Academy Virtual creates a nurturing, structured, and accessible learning environment tailored for students who flourish through personalized pacing, targeted support, and inclusive, literacy-driven instruction.
