Thomas Nelson Leadership Academy (TNLA) – Inspiring Leadership Through Faith, Education, and Public Virtue
Thomas Nelson Leadership Academy (TNLA) is a faith-centered, parent-led commonwealth school based in Cedar City, Utah. Our community is built upon the educational principles of A Thomas Jefferson Education by Oliver DeMille and is dedicated to cultivating leadership, public virtue, and a lifelong love of learning.
TNLA offers a structured, mentorship-based environment where families come together weekly to provide liberal arts education grounded in faith, character, and classical literature. Through Junior and Scholar programs, students of all ages engage in dynamic classes that focus on personal growth, leadership skills, moral integrity, and a deep understanding of history, government, and human nature.
Mentors are trained in the DeMille method and guide students through transformative scholar projects such as Sword of Freedom, Hero, Quest, and Shakespeare studies. These projects emphasize critical thinking, communication, research, writing, and the study of great leaders and founding principles.
We proudly carry the name of Thomas Nelson, Jr.—a signer of the Declaration of Independence known for his unwavering sacrifice and public virtue during the Revolutionary War. His example of selfless leadership is at the heart of our mission.
At TNLA, we believe that education is not just about academics—it’s about becoming. We aim to strengthen society by raising youth who live mission, promote freedom, and serve their communities with courage and conviction.
As a registered 501(c)(7) organization, TNLA is more than a homeschool co-op—it’s a generational community built on values that endure. Join us in creating a legacy of leaders who understand liberty, live with purpose, and lead with integrity.
