About Dani Borgoyne
Mrs Burgoyne worked for 14 years in the Davis County School District in Centerville and Layton, Utah. She taught 2nd, 3rd and 5th grades for 11 years, and previously worked in the Functional skills classroom for 3 years. In addition to on-going teacher training in reading, writing, and math, Dani was certified in the University of Utah Next-Steps reading programs to tutor reading skills and comprehension. Dani is both a mother and grandmother. Along with raising 6 exceptional children (Not sure? Just ask them), she is grandmother to a dozen grandchildren… and growing!
All Tutoring is done at her home in Centerville, Utah. However, if you have a child with special needs other arrangements can be made.
Teaching philosophies
Growth mindset – Re-frame your thinking from “I can’t” to “I will try”. Learning from our mistakes helps us become better than we were.
Reading is the foundation – Reading opens our mind to greater understanding and knowledge in all other aspects of life. It also helps us be more imaginative and creative.
communicate through Writing – Writing helps us make sense of what we are learning, and to express what we are thinking. It is a key to communicating effectively with others.
Think like a mathematician – Math is EVERYWHERE.
