Visionary Vanguardians, operating under the banner Train of Thought, is a dynamic homeschool microschool based in Layton, Utah, offering in-person classes tailored for the 2024–2025 academic year. Meeting weekly from 12:30 to 3:30 PM, this program invites young learners into a rich, hands-on learning environment where leadership development, historical inquiry, and tech skills unite.
Each week, students engage in themed leadership lessons with titles like “Turn the Page,” “7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens,” “Service Project,” and “Dealing with Difficult People,” cultivating character, communication, and real-world confidence. In parallel, Ancient History studies explore topics such as social structures, economic networks, urban centers, writing systems, and civilizations spanning China, India, Africa, Egypt, Greece, and Rome.
The tech component is hands-on and adaptive: sessions alternate between drone-based exploration and programming fundamentals, and later introduce 3D printing projects to spark innovation and engage logical thinking.
Beyond classroom sessions, the program integrates field trips, service projects, and interactive wrap-ups like book discussions or RPG-style games—infusing experiential learning and community connection.
